Dealing with the Social Isolation of the Covid-19 Pandemic

The team says there are several hand sanitizers and disinfectants on the market and it may be difficult telling which is effective or substandard. However, they advise the public not to buy products from unknown or unreliable sites or manufacturers. They also state that pharmacists should advise the public on the appropriate products for preventing COVID-19 and to raise awareness on appropriate use of these products.
The authors also urge drug regulatory bodies to revisit their current guidelines on production and sales of hand sanitizers to prevent the proliferation of substandard products on the market. Hand washing remains the more preferred method of hand cleansing as it removes virtually all types of pathogens from the hand. When hand washing, make sure you follow proper technique since hand washing can be substandard too if not done properly
The study team included eight pharmacists based in the UK, Italy, and Jordan.
