Walking or Cycling to Work Has Long-term Benefits

Being chauffeur driven in an air-conditioned car to work sure sounds like a great idea, particularly in warm weather. But don’t “pity” persons who walk or ride a bicycle to work as they may be accumulating long-term health benefits. As this study of over 300,000 persons in England and Wales showed, people who ride a bicycle or walk to work  are less likely to suffer from chronic health conditions like heart disease and also cancer that can shorten life.
