Moderate Exercise in Middle and Old Age Reduces Hospitalization Rates

Want to know that one thing that could reduce how long you spend on hospital admission or if you ever get admitted at all? Its exercise! physical activity. You must have heard of how physical activity boosts blood circulation, makes you feel more energized and refreshed, and make you look fit. New research has shown that it could keep you away from the hospital too.

The study revealed that men and women aged 40-79 had a much lower risk of long or frequent hospital admissions if they engaged in regular exercises. The study found that people who were mostly inactive spent extra four days in the hospital over the next ten years than those who did at least some exercise.

This is plausible, as physical activity improves immune function, heart health, blood sugar regulation, and is associated with overall improved health outcomes.

So, if you want to lower your risk of disease such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, obesity, and other chronic diseases that could prolong your stay in the hospital, you should increase your physical activity – get moving!!
