Ending Female Genital Mutilation

Female genital mutilation (or Female circumcision) is a common
practice worldwide, especially in Africa.

In Africa, more than 3 million girls are at risk of being mutilated yearly.

Many communities perform this practice for different cultural or religious
reasons.

In some communities, it is performed as a rite of passage for girls as they
transition into womanhood, while for some, it is performed to ensure that
a woman is chaste or celibate until she gets married.

Female genital mutilation is an unhealthy practice that needs to be stopped.
