These effects may be long-lasting, according to the researchers. Behaviors that may be affected include ability to maintain attention, retain new information and interact socially. How much internet exposure is too much for an adult? This is not clear. SImple measures such as restricting the urge to check incoming electronic mails/messages continuously, and taking a break from the internet at selected times during the day, may help curb total internet exposure.
