Antimalarial Resistance occurs when antimalarial drugs no longer have any effect or they become slow to act.
This happens as a result of the overuse and misuse of these medications. When these drugs are used indiscriminately, the parasite causing the illness becomes familiar with the medication and the way it works, then they develop a defence mechanism so they can keep surviving, making it difficult to treat the illness.
