This was the finding of researchers who used eye-tracking technology to compare how babies and caregivers communicate. In this study, researchers showed babies short video clips of adults speaking as regular adults and other videos in which the adults spoke like babies, commonly called baby talk. They showed that babies responded to "baby talk" but not adult-directed talk. We can all relate to this observation, can't we?
