The robots are coming: artificial intelligence is almost as good as experienced radiologists for prostate cancer diagnos

FocalNet is an artificial intelligence system developed by UCLA researchers for prostate cancer diagnosis. In tests, this system performed almost as well as radiologists with at least 10 years of experience in identifying and predicting the aggressiveness of prostate cancer on magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, scans. FocalNet was 80.5 percent accurate, while radiologists with at least 10 years of experience were 83.9 percent accurate.
