A South Australia startup, Lookinglass, has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) web app that can detect early-stage Parkinson’s disease. The way it works is that a user will upload a video recording and while this is taking place, the computer vision system will use AI to track person's movement and then compare it with known Parkinson’s symptoms.
This AI app has many potential uses. Similar apps are being used for Telemedicine to diagnose and medically manage persons living in places where it is not easy to get to a doctor.
