These realities are barriers to universal vaccination against dangerous infections. Hepatitis B is an example of a disease that could be brought to its knees if an oral vaccine that did not require refrigeration became available. Overall, oral vaccines are both safer and less expensive than injections. The researchers in this study used advanced imaging and high-level physics to discover how oral vaccines that do not require refrigeration can be produced. Now, that's really cool!
