The answer to this, according to recent research, is they are not at an increased risk. Of note, parents reported more behavioral/emotional problems when the children were between 3-5 years of age, perhaps reflecting their own anxiety. In later years, children born through MAR did slightly better than those conceived naturally, but this seems to be explained by parental characteristics such as high educational attainment and relative affluence.
