Malaria Transmission Patterns in Africa Expected to Change With Climate

yesteryear Africa, with over 90% of the global malaria cases in 2018, is the hotspot for malaria transmission. Climate change in the future is expected to lead to changes in malarial transmission patterns. Researchers forecast that some areas that are currently conducive to malaria transmission will become less conducive as they become drier. Southern Sudan stood out as an area where transmission may go down with climate change. On the other hand, places that are not currently conducive to transmission due to dessert conditions, such as Botswana and Mozambique, may become more conducive to malaria transmission.
