CBN Approves N10 Billion for Health Intervention Grants

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved N10 billion in loans and grants for various healthcare interventions under the COVID-19 intervention scheme. According to a spokesperson, the loan program and grants are in two categories: loans for pharmaceutical and healthcare-related research and loans targeted at finding alternative medicine for the treatment of the deadly coronavirus. The spokesperson also mentioned requirements that have to be met by loan and grant recipients before such monies are approved. These include authentication by relevant government agencies such as the Nigerian Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC).
